What is the difference between Cystitis and a Urinary Tract Infection?

I am looking for information and/or support with regard to Interstitial Cystitis and Endometriosis?

    cystitis is an Inflammation of the urinary bladder and ureters and the UTI is an infection of your urinary tract related to improper hygiene….

    example the proper way of wiping is from the ****** down to the ****.. if you do it in reverse.. you will have a tendency of getting UTI.

    As Ian C says, UTI is an actual infection of the bladder and urinary tract and needs to be treated with antibiotics. Cystitis is just inflamation and can be caused by a number of factors like over vigerous ***. It can be treated with soluble powder from the chemist, or just lots of cranberry juice.

    In a mild case of UTI the symptoms are very similar to those of cystitis (difficulty and a burning sensation when passing urine) so if you have symptoms you should get it checked out to make sure you don’t need antibiotics.

    Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder, this may or may not be secondary to infection.

    A UTI is an infection anywhere in your urinary tract. This could be your Urethra, Bladder, Ureters or Kidneys.

    In answer to your question cystitis caused by an infection may be treated with antibiotics. If this does not relieve your symptoms and you have recurring bouts you may be sent to see a Urologist, who may carry out investigations to determine the cause of your symptoms.
